Chapter 9: Culture

Canada is known for being diverse.  They embrace different cultures and nationalities.  They promote multiculturalism and embrace being different.  Canada is also very into art, language and music.  Ever since the beginning of time, Canada has always been influence by the British and French.  Now that they are their own country, they embrace their nationality and country. Media and entertainment are also a huge part of Canada.  They also are involved in a lot of sports.  One of their main sports is ice hockey. They even succeeded in victory in the 2010 Winter Olympics, which was a huge deal and great accomplishment.

Chapter 8: Religion and Language

In Canada there are two main languages.  The first main language that is most common and used is English.  The second language that most people know is French. One in every five person knows French.    The most common religion in Canada is Catholic.  Catholicism is the most prevailing religion in Canada and is growing.  About 1/3 of the population is Catholic.  The second most common religion is Canada is Protestant.  A more than 1/4 of the population is Protestant.  Language and ethnicity has a lot to do with the person's religion.

Chapter 7: Ethnicity

In Canada, their nationality is Canadian.  The number one ethnic group in Canada are Canadians, followed by the English and then the French.  The smallest ethnic group in Canada is Greek.  Canadians take up 33% of the population, English 22%, followed by the French 16%.  The reason why there are so many English and French population is because around the 1500's when the Europeans were trying to conquer land, the English and the french were the two most earliest Ethnic Groups to conquer Canada and stay there.

Chapter 6: Population

Canada may be one of the largest countries in the world, but their population isn't.  Canada's population is roughly 34 million people.  For the amount of land and mass that they own, the population is little.  The largest city in Canada that has the most population is Toronto.  It's population is almost 13 million people.

Chapter 5: Climate

Canada's temperature is very diverse,  It mainly focuses on what region of the country you're in and what time of the season.  Winter in Canada can be extremely harsh.  In some parts of the region, the average temperature will be rom about 5 degree Fahrenheit to about 10.  In some cases, however, the temperature will drop to below -40 degrees Fahrenheit due to wind.  During summer, the sun isn't that harsh.  It will range from about mid 80-low 90 degrees Fahrenheit.  In some regions, however, the weather will go as hugh as 105 degrees.

Chapter 4: Nature and National Parks

Canada is rich in lakes, mountains, volcanoes and beautiful waterfalls.  A section of the Great Lakes falls into the southern parts of Canada such as in Quebec and Ontario. Also, part of the Appalachian Mountains lie in Canada.  One of the most famous landmarks that Canada is known for is the Niagara Falls.  The Niagara Falls are actually three waterfalls that happen to be very close to each other.  These three waterfalls are the Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls (they are in order form largest to smallest). The Niagara Falls attract many tourists and much of the city profits off of it.  In the western part of the region, Canada is known for having Arctic region which is rich in tundra and permafrost.

Chapter 3: Geography

Canada is the second biggest country based on land mass.  Canada stretches from the Pacific Ocean from the west all the way to the Atlantic Ocean to the east.  Canada takes up most of the Northern America region.  Canada has also the longest coastline, which in total is 125, 570 miles long.  It's border with the inited states is also one of longest stretching at 5,525 miles long.
